CONCEPTS

Brand: Lacoste x Concepts

Season: SS20

Key Pieces: The matching sets of hoodies and shorts arriving in mint green and lavender are perfect for when you want to play tennis but also flex some new pastel colorways.

Release Date: August 14

Buy: CNCPTS and Lacoste, as well as across the US in Concepts stores in Boston and New York City. It will also be available at Concepts locations in China and Dubai.

Editor’s Notes: Lacoste has worked with Boston-based retailer Concepts for a new limited-edition capsule that sees the classic brand updated with contemporary colorways and unexpected details.

The French heritage label – known for its white tennis polos – actually shares a unique connection to Boston, the home of Concepts. It was a journalist writing for the Boston Evening Transcript in 1923 who first coined the moniker “the Alligator” to describe René Lacoste, which led to the brand’s now iconic logo.

The collaboration includes hoodies, shorts, tennis polos, T-shirts, caps, slides, which are notable for the reflective 3M treatment and iridescent alligator logo. The collaboration also introduces a new version of Lacoste's Velocity sneaker, originally launched in 1996 –  the year Concepts was founded. Concepts has added its own twist to the model with dynamic gold-tipped laces, and interchangeable tongue-tags that can be stowed away in a hidden pouch.
