Freshly-minted Los Angeles Laker LeBron James made an appearance at yesterday's NBA media day and addressed his move from Cleveland to Los Angeles, among other things.

As images of James donning the purple and gold uniform alongside his new teammates —  Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee and Lance Stephenson — surfaced online, users were faced with the reality of the new team.

“I am truly excited about this opportunity. I am always wanting to learn and get things from team-mates and coaches," LeBron told reporters. At one point, the Lakers’ new star reacted frostily to a question concerning his busy schedule and commitment to the sport. “How long have you been following me?” James quickly replied to the questioner.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many are still struggling to come to terms with the sight of James in a Lakers jersey and as such, with this being 2018, channeled their emotions in the only way they know how — via memes.
