Dressed in an ACG Outfit, Nike's Book 1 Sneaker Is Beautifully Outdoorsy
Nike's Book 1 basketball sneaker already looks good as both a basketball shoe and a casual sneaker. And when combined with excellent colorways, Devin Booker's signature shoe really doesn't miss.
It also turns out that Booker's Nike sneakers look even more handsome as an outdoorsy, ACG-flavored shoe, even off the court.
That's right. Nike's Book 1 sneaker has gone ACG, dressing up as the classic ACG Air Mowabb "Twine." In addition to wearing the Mowabb's familiar palette of teal blues, tans, and orange pops (speckles, too), the Book 1 also borrowed a couple of other signature details from the boot-like outdoor model from the '90s.
Specifically, an "Air Book" replaces the traditional "Chapter One" message on the heel, seen in a similar Mowabb-style font. At the same time, the Book 1 boasts suede-like moments on its upper, like the OG Mowabbs. Nike's Book sneakers also include a textured canvas detail, adding more outdoor flavoring to the basketball shoe.
The Nike Book 1 "Mowabb" was initially believed to be another player-exclusive sneaker and debuted on the courts by Booker himself in 2024. It's now slated to receive a wider release...alongside other Book 1 PEs.
Nike recently dropped the "Forrest Gump" Book 1, a once-exclusive design inspired by the beloved Nike Cortez colorway popularized in the Oscar-winning movie Forrest Gump. Nike's "Forrest Gump" Books launched back in January.
Nike's Book 1 "Mowabb" is said to be dropping at Nike in March, joining a super solid collection for the signature shoes. Indeed, Booker's signature shoes continue to receive great makeovers, from stitched-up "Halloween" pairs to deliciously fruity "Grape" iterations. There are also those pretty pink "Sunrise" versions, which surprisingly ditched one of the best parts of the shoe.
Bringing this beautiful "Mowabb" PE pair to retail makes it better.
