Nike has Flyknit. adidas has Primeknit. And now, PUMA has evoKNIT. The German brand looks to cash in on the ever-popular knit, sock-like footwear craze by introducing its new Ignite evoKNIT.

Again, PUMA's knit upper construction is referred to as evoKNIT, while this particular silhouette also boasts an eye-catching sock-like collar, as many brands are implementing these days. Nylon straps in turn provide added support for the heel and ankle, in addition to holding the laces in place. And finally, the Ignite evoKNIT showcases a heavily-grooved midsole.

Get your first look at PUMA's new Ignite evoKNIT above and be on the lookout for the sneaker to release on July 1 through select retailers for $130 USD.

Do you think PUMA's new evoKNIT technology can compete with Nike's Flyknit and adidas's Primeknit?
