Editor's Notes: The PUMA Suede is steeped in history – from its first iteration as the Crack, at the forefront of the civil rights movement in sports, as a staple of hip-hop style, and at the center of global counter-culture moments.

Few footwear silhouettes can boast the history that the PUMA Suede has, nor the volume of iterations. Keeping the sneaker relevant from generation to generation is first, and foremost, its classic, no-frills aesthetic, but the plethora of options available has ensured it stays contemporary.

There are plenty of color options to choose from, but the real head-turners and discussion points are the colorways that arrive courtesy of regional exclusives and collaborations.

With a classic, little work is required to create something original while maintaining the silhouette's integrity. The Rhuigi Suede, for example, giving the fabrication a luxe upgrade, while the palette is shifted to match the Rhude aesthetic.

Exclusive to Japan, the Suede Vintage Made in Japan "Sashiko" stays even closer to the base product. Released in two colorways – "Vaporous Gray" and "Intense Blue" – the updated look decks out the PUMA sidewall logo with a blue and white pattern.

If you're looking for the type of on-trend, stripped-back silhouette that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna would be proud of, look no further.
