Now that collaborations have no limits whatsoever — think Fendace, Gucciaga, Ben & Jerry’s x Nike, etc. — anything can happen. One of the less unlikely developments in the world of collaborations, though, was when retailers began to get involved. Sneaker and streetwear retailers are a natural counterpart to the manufacturing labels, increasing scope and solidifying relationships. The latest retailer to grab a piece of the collaboration pie is Stadium Goods. The Stadium Goods x BAPE BAPE STA & SK8 STA were announced today and will land later this fall.

Dressed in the retailer’s pared-back grey, white, and black color palette, the Stadium Goods x BAPE collaboration is a welcome departure from the bright hues and standout logos that typically characterize this type of collaboration. High-quality suede overlays a mesh base for a classic finish on all sides.

The BAPE STA and SK8 STA have long been icons of streetwear and sneakers, cemented there by their unlikely ability to dodge Nike’s itchy legal trigger finger. Based on the Nike Air Force 1 and Dunk respectively, the BAPE STA and SK8 STA distill the original referential, bootleg mindset of the early days of streetwear culture.

It makes sense, then, that these are the models chosen for the Stadium Goods x BAPE collaboration. Being the first sneaker collaboration that the resale giant has ever done, it pays homage to the world and culture that Stadium Goods caters to.

The Stadium Goods x BAPE BAPE STA and SK8 STA will retail for $315 each and will be available in limited quantities later this fall. Find out more about the collaboration here.
