Editor’s Notes: It’s no secret that Steve Jobs was a great admirer of New Balance., The tech genius’ uniform — consisting of a black turtle neck, blue jeans, and grey New Balance sneakers — was as iconic as the products he helped design at Apple. The New Balance 992 was Jobs’ favorite model and — so the story goes — Jobs even had a hand in designing it. Legend has it, Jobs sent rough sketches of a sneaker to New Balance founder Jim Davis, which reportedly spawned the 99X series.

Now New Balance is bringing back that same model in a range of colorways, including the classic grey favored by Jobs. An editorial by German retailer 43einhalb shows off each of the colorways alongside Apple products and other memorabilia one would associate with Jobs.

While the retailer has not announced an official release date, stores in Singapore will receive the New Balance 992 on April 7, so a release around then is highly likely for other territories as well.
