Yesterday’s surprise, pop-up event in Peckham, London, would have been Tyler, the Creator‘s first show in the UK since he was banned in 2015.

Tyler initially announced the surprise performance in a string of cryptic tweets that lead fans, including a number of celebrities, to Copeland Park’s Bussey Building.

Fans were understandably eager to catch the rapper the day after the release of his critically lauded new album, IGOR.

Unfortunately, the show was canceled by police before anyone got the chance to see him perform. According to a now-deleted post, the rapper claimed it got “Too rowdy, cops canceled it, go home. The gate climbing [was the] nail in the coffin.”

LONDON ❤️❤️❤️

Tyler, the Creator wasn’t the only one disappointed by the shutdown. Even Virgil Abloh was seen climbing under the gate to make his escape.

However, fans in the UK shouldn’t be too disappointed. Now the ban has been lifted, the rapper promises he’ll be back soon, hopefully for a proper tour.
