Sneakers
From the ground up

Though the earth-shattering NMD silhouette may be a better claimant for the title of “sneaker of the summer,” adidas’s various Tubular sneakers are certainly a contender. Particularly if it’s decked out in luscious Primeknit, the nectar and ambrosia of adidas materials. In the past month alone, we have seen a navy Tubular Doom, an immaculate all-white Tubular Nova, and a charcoal grey Tubular Doom, the latter of which arrived just last week. Now adidas has just written the latest chapter in the Tubular Primeknit saga: a Tubular Doom in an entirely monochromatic black.

Building off the classic Tubular Doom blueprint stitch for stitch, the black version is the ideal choice for those whose footwear must be devoid of showiness. Like the other Doom sneakers, it features an elastic strap on the forefoot, a 3-stripes lace system and a delicately structure heel panel. And of course, this shoe is elevated with the brand’s signature Primeknit construction and the unique form of tooling that characterizes the Tubular Doom. adidas has described this version of the sneaker as the “darkest side of contemporary design yet,” which seems like a more than apt description for the only piece of athletic footwear we can picture Darth Vader investing in.

Stay tuned for further release information on the adidas Tubular Doom Primeknit in all black. Head over to the originals online store to shop the brand’s multiple other iterations.

In other adidas news, the brand’s favorite client (a certain Mr. Kanye West) has just given a brief hint as to the next model of the highly-coveted YEEZY Boost 550.
