By now, you’ve already seen the very best and worst looks from the Met Gala, and all the savage memes that followed. But after the world watched and live-tweeted the red carpet looks with razor-sharp, sassy commentary while in their PJs, the celebrities were merely getting started. Leave it to Rihanna to throw the most hyped party of the night.

After shutting down the Met Gala red carpet in a superb COMME des GARÇONS look, the eternal bad-gal took to 1-Oak, one of NYC’s favorite late-night spots with a throng of A-list celebs in tow.

Cynthia Erivo and Lupita Nyong’o showed up together, Zoë Kravitz continued to slay, RiRi’s former rumored flame Leonardo DiCaprio made an appearance, Kendall Jenner and A$AP Rocky whispered sweet nothings to each other all night, Janelle Monáe came out in some avant-garde steez, and even notorious recluse Frank Ocean showed up for a flaming vodka shot.

Fashion’s elite squad were out in full force too, with Jeremy Scott, Raf Simons, Maxwell Osbourne, Derek Blasberg, Scott Studenberg, Luka Sabbat and Alexander Wang all spotted bopping to sounds by DJs Virgil Abloh, Pedro, Chase B and Alex Champman.

No surprise that Rihanna threw the most talked about after-party considering her showstopping Met Gala ensemble topped every best-dressed list. After tearing it up at the Boom Boom Room atop the Standard Hotel, the likes of Karlie Kloss, Ruby Rose, Rita Ora, and some of the gala co-chairs including Katy Perry (who actually threw her after party) and Pharrell Williams all conceded defeated to Rihanna and joined the bad-gal for the party of the night.

Take a look at some of the party action above and the coterie of A-listers who joined Rihanna to celebrate the first Monday of May.

Ready for another spicy hot take? Here’s why the Met Gala 2017 red carpet was the most boring to date.
