New York City-based design collective, NEWTHINGS has unveiled their new capsule collection entitled “ART Department.”
NEWTHINGS designed the pieces with their main influences coming from conversations held on the design collectives’s collective podcast RIGHTNOW AUDIO, where they discuss politics, sustainability, architecture, and the future of art and design with numerous creatives including our very own Editorial Director, Jian Deleon.
The fabrics were chosen to fit the theme of previous podcast conversations, which is why they used military grade nylon, ripstop nylon and ripstop cotton. The garments are made to order as well to ensure that every piece is handled with exceptional care.
The silhouettes are relaxed and paired with utilitarian features such as cargo pockets, slits, and openings for both function and fashion, and to correlate the designs with sustainability and a waist-reduction theme.
NEWTHINGS’ “ART DEPARTMENT” is just an appetizer for the brand’s full collection which will be available to the public during NYC fashion week in February 2018.
You will be able to get your hands on the capsule beginning July 14 and exclusively on I Like New Things.
