Earlier this month Kanye West and Kid Cudi were spotted at Takashi Murakami’s studio in Japan. This in turn followed up on a previous sighting with Plain Pat leaving a recording studio in Los Angeles. The multiple appearances alongside one another have expectantly gone on to spark a number of rumors surrounding a possible Kanye and Cudder collaboration.

Long time no see @kidcudi and #kanyewest. Thank you for coming to my studio. It was fire ???

Now, Page Six is reporting that the on-again, off-again pals are working on an album. “They’re going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue,” an anonymous source revealed to the publication. “They’re going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They’re recording it now.”

Many have speculated that the two could be working on Turbo Grafx 16 and/or Man on the Moon 3, but the same insider has insisted that ‘Ye and Cudi are keeping the project under wraps. “Nobody knows what it is — or what it sounds like. . . There are no professionals in the room. It’s just Cudi, Kanye and an engineer. They’re recording together in Japan.”

Albeit they went through a bit of a rough patch last year, Kanye and Kid Cudi have been friends and collaborators for almost a decade. Cudder has gone on to appear on every Yeezy album since 808’s & Heartbreak, while West was featured on Cudi’s first two albums.

For now, nothing has been confirmed regarding these numerous sightings with one another, but we certainly hope it is in fact a joint project.

Stay tuned for more on a possible new Kanye and Kid Cudi album.
