With the sock-like sneaker trend in full effect this year, we long suspected it was only a matter of time before the geniuses in Herzogenaurach revamped the wildly successful Ultra Boost for a snugger fit. When the finished, sans-laces, product arrived, the kick had exceeded expectations and then some, raising the bar for the term “form meets function.”

In a Highsnobiety exclusive, we take a look at how some of Instagram’s most influential faces are rocking the kicks. As you’ll see below, the silhouette is already rolling out in myriad colorways, with the green and blue iteration in gallery one never-before-seen.

Max Reyes (@maxreyes_)

“I workout to keep my mind & body healthy. Growing up I used to get my workout through the various sports I was playing but now I usually just go to the gym, go for a run, hop on a bike or go for a swim in the ocean with my camera.”

Nicholas Rwilkie (@blackout.jpg)

“As a former college wrestler, running and working out has been an essential part of my life. It’s always been a great way to de-stress after a busy day at work and to keep myself in shape.
I find [the lack of laces] way more convenient. I don’t have to worry about [them] coming untied and tripping over them while running on the treadmill.”

Sam Sklar (@SKLVR)

“I don’t have a specific [work out] routine, I try to get in as many runs as possible in a week given my work and travel schedule. I also try to meet up with friends to play tennis or basketball as often as I can.

[These are] super comfortable yet still give me the fit and support I expect in a running shoe. [Having no laces] is just one less thing to think about.”

Shelby Edwards & James Whitney (@Littledrill)

“Our house is less than a mile from our studio, and our gym is smack dab in the middle. We set up a life for ourselves that doesn’t leave much room for excuses. Even if we don’t have time to go to the gym, we can at least get a little workout in by running or biking to work.”

Jose Narvaez (@oasisjae)

“At first it [freaked me out to run without laces]. Until I tried on the ‘Laceless’ UltraBOOST and was impressed by the support it gave and stuck to my foot.”
