Previously, in a recent report from Business Insider, Morgan Stanley analysts noted that Jordan Brand's performance was on the decline and shared, “The risk is this is a sign Nike has the previously unthinkable ‘brand problem’ with its Jordan Brand.”

Now, it has been officially confirmed today by NDP Group’s sports industry analyst Matt Powell, who tweeted that adidas has overtaken Jordan as the number 2 brand in the United States for sports footwear, an achievement he never thought he would see in his lifetime.

While Nike is still at the top, Powell also shared that adidas sport footwear sales grew more than half for the month of August, while Nike, Jordan and Coverse sales were down.

Furthermore, adidas's growth was punctuated by big sales for the Tubular Shadow and Superstar silhouettes during August.

In other three stripes news, adidas Consortium’s “A//D” pack modernizes the TwinStrike & adiStar Comp runners.
