Yes, adidas is making a pair of the OG Stan Smith sneakers and refurbishing them with a Boost sole set to drop next year, it is exciting. But the sportswear giant is not spending all of its time looking ahead, it has gone to the drawing board to churn out numerous existing editions of the Stan Smiths to make them more adaptable for the summer heat. First there was the Primeknit edition (in a variety of ultra-summery colors), then came a lusciously comfortable Leather Sock iteration, and most recently a makeover by adidas Skateboarding. Now comes the latest Stan Smith goodie: a “Woven” pair.
This “Woven” pair sports exactly that across its upper, seamlessly incorporating the weaving and looming technique you were never able to master in your high school home ec class with ease. The colorway is the classic Stan Smith green and white, with the sneaker itself coming in entirely white with green details on the tongue label and the leather heel tab. Other details include a tonal set of laces and eyelets, with a unique pattern of perforations on the side panel which contrasts with the cork-ish pattern on the insole. Sure these sneakers are technically made with the court in mind, but a chic pair of shoes like these should never be constrained to your sporting life.
The adidas Originals "Woven" Stan Smith is available now via online retailer Feature Sneaker Boutique.
