UPDATED 5:23 p.m. ET: Under Armour has confirmed the footwear featured is an update to the Forge franchise that launched in FW17 from UAS. There is reportedly more to follow from this lifestyle sneaker silhouette that will drop in SS18.
A$AP Rocky took to Twitter early on Tuesday morning to categorically deny reports that the above sneaker is his first silhouette for Under Armour.
The story was picked up by various outlets due to an Instagram post (below) that showed a picture of the shoe with the A$AP Mob frontman sitting in the background, suggesting that this was the collaboration he had been busy working on with the brand.
The rapper put those rumors to rest pretty quickly, retweeting one of the reports mere hours after it was posted online and proclaiming the information to be “false.”
Rocky's AWGE branch and Under Armour announced a partnership back in September of last year, however, little to no information has been revealed since then.
The shoe above could be an early sample or just a design to take inspiration from, however, one thing is clear: This will not be the first A$AP Rocky x Under Armour sneaker to release.
In other sneaker news, adidas is planning to increase its U.S. marketshare to 20 percent.
