What We’re Saying: Bodega and New Balance's partnership has seen the duo dropping covetable kicks for several years now, most recently as part of NB's amazing collaborative streak from 2020. Now the pair are back in business, celebrating the Boston-based boutique's 15th anniversary with an exclusive 990v3, appropriately dubbed "Here to Stay."

The muted, quietly luxe palette that informs this New Balance is in line with the rugged motifs seen in Bodega's other recent special sneaker drops, including that nutty Saucony Grid Azura 2000 and the Nike Dunk High, retaining the subtle opulence seen in its recent Vans Vault drop.

Bodega has opted for an especially earthy color palette — utilizing colors with names like "Kangaroo" and "Caribou" — for its 990v3, eschewing the retro runner's usual dad-approved grey for a darker tone that accents the "N" logo and heel tab. Chocolatey shades of brown and beige, meanwhile, match the upper's laces, suede, and mesh panels to the molded midsole, making for an old-school shoe as attractive as it is versatile.

The 990v3 a far cry from the flashy, Star Fox-inspired New Balance 577 "HYPRCAT" that kicked off the pair's collaborative history, but that's just simple evolution. With a renewed focus on premium materials and thoughtful revision anchored by a thoughtful in-house apparel selection, Bodega has proved beyond any doubt that it's indeed "Here to Stay."

Bodega's forthcoming New Balance 990v3 launches on June 16 via Bodega's website and store for $220 on a first-come, first-served basis.
