On occasion, the name of a perfume will dictate what we smell. Byredo has eliminated this possibility with its nameless fragrance, aptly dubbed Unnamed.

Unnamed was originally launched in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Swedish luxury house. Following many inquiries, the fragrance is set to return for a short period of time.

The nameless perfume is meant to allow the customer to come up with their own interpretation. However, upon wearing, one may note hints of spicy pink ginger, icy gin, pines, balsam scents, and a touch of turpentine. Conversely, those who simply don't identify the ingredients can let their emotions be their guide.

“The names of the Byredo fragrances often describe the origin of an idea, a thought that leads to a brief presented to the perfumer. With fragrance being completely subjective, these names spark the imagination of the perfumer and finally the customer. They each experience the fragrance even before they smell the ingredients in the bottle," says Ben Gorham, Founder and Creative Director of Byredo. "We still find it fascinating that people interpret our fragrances in so many ways. We created an unnamed fragrance that allows our customers to choose a name meaningful to them.”

Byredo's Unnamed fragrance is scheduled to re-release on January 31 for a limited time only at select Byredo retailers and online.
