Chance the Rapper Reveals Donald Glover Got Him a Role in 'The Lion King'
Chance the Rapper just revealed that he has a surprise role in the new live-action remake of The Lion King and it's all thanks to Donald Glover.
In an Instagram post, the rapper gushed about his childhood love for the original animation and its spin-offs, before mentioning how Donald Glover got him a small role in the Jon Favreau-directed movie, which is out next week.
"I grew up my whole life obsessed with all things related to The Lion King," Chance writes. “So when my big bro Donald got casted as Simba, he did the coolest thing ever and told director Jon Favreau to call me in as a consultant to keep the original flavor.”
In the post, Chance shares proud images of his family attending last night's premiere, as well as a shot of the film credits where his role is listed as “Bush Baby.”
“One day I’m there Jon asked me to do some singing stuff, another day he asks me to do some lines,” Chance's post caption continues. “It's all a blur, but I’ll tell you it’s one of the best blurs of my whole life.” Check out the post and full caption below.
The Lion King will hit US cinemas on July 19.
