Highsnobiety

It may seem like the holidays crept up on us, but they always do. They're fast approaching and with that means having to dress for everything from office functions to family dinners to cocktail parties. But with a little planning and inspiration you don't have to resort to the same ol' 'fits that show up in your Instagram pictures around the holidays year after year.

Right now, we're eyeing H&M's newly released holiday collection that features the kind of pieces that hit the right balance between fresh and timeless. Among them are wool-blend coats that are equally at home over a button-down and trousers as they are over your favorite track pants for the morning after the after-party. Other notable pieces are the floral-printed shirt and the chelsea boots. Peep our favorite pieces here.

Slim-Fit Patterned Shirt

This button-down is an easy way to introduce pattern into your wardrobe and update your holiday style. We like it on its own paired with wool-blend trousers as much as we do layered under a crew-neck sweater—and at $14.99 you really can't go wrong.

Slim-Fit Stretch Shirt

What's fresher than a classic white-button shirt? Unlike the boxy variety out there, this one's slim-fit caught our eye. Try pairing it with vintage jeans and your favorite kicks for a fire casual holiday 'fit.

Shawl-Collar Sweater

If your holidays call for more formal attire, but you're not a suit-and-tie kind of guy, try a shawl-collar sweater in lieu of a blazer. It's dressier than your typical sweater, but still keeps things cozy.

Wool-Blend Coat

We're a fan of the dark gray here. It's a great alternative to the typical black and blue variety and will pair equally as well with your wardrobe. And at $99 it probably won't last long.

Knit Merino-Blend Sweater

Burgundy is a sophisticated color and one you shouldn't be sleeping on. If you're on the fence about it, start with this merino-blend sweater and then graduate to burgundy pants, cold-weather accessories, and even suede boots.

Knit Turtleneck Sweater

For the casual-formal dress codes at most office parties, flex in a turtleneck, slim-fit jeans, and pair of badass chelsea boots.

Chelsea Boots

A sleek chelsea boot dresses every outfit up, so around the holidays make 'em your go-to pair. These fit the bill.

Slim-Fit Wool-Blend Pants

As much as we want to continue rocking jeans and track pants through the holidays, some occasions call for more. These wool-blend trousers are cut slim and are great for more formal attire.

Wool-Blend Coat

Sophisticated: check. Versatile: check. Warm: check. What more do you need in a coat?

Skinny-Fit Suit Pants

It wouldn't be hard to imagine style icon André 3000 in these. Need we say more?
