J.Crew’s head of men’s design, Dan Winkworth told Highsnobiety “J.Crew and New Balance’s launched “Wild Nature” pack includes two cool, wearable shoes that pays homage to two North American icons: the grizzly bear and the rattlesnake.” Speaking on the background of the collaboration, Winkworth continues, “New Balance was one of J.Crew’s first brand partners. The collaboration was first conceived after a design team trip to Tokyo – the shoe that came out of that research trip was the initial two-colorway drop of the New Balance 1400. The partnership that developed is now somewhat ingrained into the J.Crew DNA. The 10-year anniversary of this collaboration is coming up and to celebrate, we have some amazing new concepts in the works.”
