One of the biggest challenges the fashion industry is facing is reducing its carbon footprint. Sustainability means many things, but one of its unquestionable goals is ensuring the health and longevity of our planet.

This mindset is at the core of an all-new, sustainable denim drop by Levi’s®. As the brand that introduced the world to jeans, it’s no surprise that it’s continuing to innovate by driving sustainable fashion forward. And this season, we're being blessed with a range of loose-fit jeans that we'll be living in this spring that includes the 551™ Z Authentic Straight Jeans, the 501®️ ’93 Straight Jeans, and the Stay Loose Carpenter Jeans.

To get a closer look at the new range, we escaped the city to explore the scenic terrains of Tujunga Canyon, a part of the Angeles Forest National Park in Los Angeles.

The all-new jeans are part of the sustainable denim drop by Levi’s® that we're really excited about. The 551™ Z Authentic Straight and the Stay Loose Carpenter are made with super-soft Cottonized Hemp specially designed for the brand. And the 501®️ ’93 Straight Jeans are constructed with organic cotton.

If, like us, you've been more mindful of the fabrics being used in clothing production, you'll be happy to know that hemp uses less water and fewer pesticides to grow than cotton. Also, hemp has the benefit of leaving behind cleaner soils. The hemp yarn creates a similar feel to cotton and has the same look as our favorite pair of Levi’s® jeans – and the best part is that it's easier on the environment.

"I love the different washes and the completely different vibe they create from vintage to sharp to punk to classic," shared Henna Koskinen, the stylist for the shoot. She describes the overall look of the 'fits as having classic looks mixed with a bit of color. "A very authentic and lived-in aesthetic is what felt right for this. Also, I wanted all the boys to have their own different personalities in the story." Koskinen put her own twist on the jeans by styling some of the models in bigger sizes. "The real fit of these jeans is great, but they also look rad oversized. I wanted to showcase the different ways of wearing them."

The 551™ Z Authentic Straight Jeans feature a relaxed fit, which hits the right note for the season – a style that pairs equally well with casual basics as it does with statement pieces. This style is actually a nod to the brand’s first-ever pre-shrunk jeans – the 551™ Z – a detail we're nerding out over. They feature stitching one inch away from the seams, straight legs and a slightly looser cut in the seat, and, overall, have a vintage vibe. The 501®️ ’93 Straight Jeans tweak the iconic 501®️ with a slightly looser fit while the Stay Loose Carpenter Jeans combine everything we love about utilitywear and clean lines. The latter sits at the waist and features a slouchy fit and leg opening.
