Nike's ESC Collection Is the Next Level of Holiday Season Looks
Nike recently dropped its Every Stitch Considered collection, the latest output of the brand's Design Exploration arm — which includes the ISPA (Improvise. Scavenge. Protect. Adapt.) and Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) lines. Every Stitch Considered (ESC) sees the Swoosh head in a direction it hasn't really taken before, merging groundbreaking sportswear design and technology with traditional tailoring. The result? A serious upgrade to your not-going-out holiday wardrobe.
"Nike Design Exploration asks us to push the boundaries of the familiar, exploring new territories of creativity and expertise,” says Kurt Parker, Nike VP of Apparel Design.
The latest result of this vision is a capsule brimming with asymmetrical outerwear, Japanese couture-inspired silhouettes, and functional mastery. Craftmanship is what leads ESC, but its design was also driven by data. Using motion-capture technology and information tracked from athletes, Nike ESC takes the meaning of lifestyle clothing to new levels, with all garments designed and made to move with their user with ease.
It's all good, to be honest, but we've picked out 10 highlight pieces from the Every Stitch Considered collection, from comfy hoodies to run-ready shorts. In case you needed reminding, it's also a good time to get gift shopping.
Shop our highlights from the Nike ESC collection below.
Navy Hoodie
We don't need to explain the eternal power of the hoodie to you. But they don't come much more comfortable than this one. It's super-lightweight but warm as hell.
White Hoodie
One is never enough, so we've thrown in this clean-as-you-can-find option, too. Comes with extra thumb protection for those icy trips to the bodega.
Tailored Jogger Pants
Using seams and details that move with the wearer, this pair of pants just took your quarantine wardrobe to comfort levels you might not have known existed.
Lightweight Woven Jacket
This is the kind of simplicity that can go wrong if not done well. Everything goes right with this Nike ESC jacket, though. A 100 percent nylon beauty complete with storm flap and bungee cord at the hem to customize your fit.
Fisherman Pants
One good reason for the return of three-quarter length pants is this pair from the ESC collection. A blend of lightweight materials teams up with an adjustable fit for crazy comfort.
Sleeveless Top
If you're one of the millions partaking in the now-commonplace home workout regime, this is ideal.
Knit Track Top
And if you're one of the brave who is actually venturing outside to stay fit, this knit track jacket is a flexible, warm beauty. Who cares if you actually end up going running in it, anyway.
Jogger Shorts
Lazing around in shorts while the fire is blazing is one of the holiday season's oldest pleasures. Much to the dismay of dad and his heating bill.
Shirt Jacket
This loose-fitting jacket is a perfect new-age business essential. I'd recommend clicking through to see how it packs down into a carryable form.
Modern Polo
Nike ESC is what the future of luxury sportswear looks like and here's more proof. Simply stunning.
