What We’re Saying: Over the past two years, most of the sneaker community has been obsessed with vintage sneakers — whether they’re actually vintage or just made to look older than they are. PUMA, being the savvy brand that it is, has tapped into that trend with its latest collection.
Dubbed NeverWorn, the collection brings PUMA’s archive to sneakerheads’ feet the world over. Split into two drops, the capsule comprises the Slipstream Lo, Suede, Blaze of Glory, and more niche styles such as the Space Lab. All sneakers have been given a pre-aged look, which is most evident on the yellowed midsole. A range of apparel arrives alongside the footwear.
“The Archive is our passion and symbolizes for me the most important thing: to learn from the old to create something new — without heritage there is no future,” says PUMA Chief Archivist Helmut Fischer. “You show the people what we already had, and as time goes on, we create something new out of it. The Archive is PUMA’s soul out of which those new products are being created.”
