Sean Wotherspoon and Nike combined on the Air Max 1/97 back in 2018 and the collaboration quickly became one of the most popular sneakers of that year. Following the drop, it was widely expected that there would be more to come from the partnership, with Wotherspoon teasing an all-blue sample of the 1/97 and later confirming that it would be part of a second collaborative drop.

Now, the Round Two co-founder has confirmed to Complex that the project has been put on ice and that he wouldn’t be collaborating with Nike for a while.

Wotherspoon is quoted as saying, “I’ve been done working with [Nike], at least on another SW collab, for a while. Still lots of good friends there. I help when asked, but being able to spread my wings again is the best feeling ever.”

By the sounds of it, the second instalment of the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97 isn’t completely off the table, but sneakerheads will have to be wait some time before another SW Nike collab.

Since his successful Nike release, Wotherspoon has worked with GUESS and Lacoste on various projects and has been teasing what appears to be a vintage sneaker collaboration with GUESS on his Instagram.
