Editor’s Notes: Supreme x UNDERCOVER is back once again, this time working on themes and imagery from Public Enemy’s 1990 album Fear of a Black Planet. The incredibly comprehensive collection features two standout hoodies, both of which are highly likely to sell out very quickly.

The first hoodie (slides 1 & 2) features the iconic album art from the rap group’s album. NASA illustrator B. E. Johnson created the cover, which played on Chuck D’s vision of two planets, Earth and the “Black” planet, eclipsing.

Speaking on the decision to go with that as the album’s cover art, Cey Adams, creative director for Def Jam at the time said: “It was so interesting to me that a black hip-hop act did an illustration for their album cover. At that time black hip-hop artists, for the most part, had photos of themselves on their covers. But this was the first time someone took a chance to do something in the rock’n’roll vein.”

The second hoodie features the name of a single from the album, “Welcome to the Terrordome,” alongside Public Enemy’s logo superimposed on a green skull on the back.

Both hoodies are set to drop alongside the rest of the collection today, March 15 online and in-store in NY, Brooklyn, LA, London, and Paris.

Due to the hyped nature of the collaboration, social media was awash with reactions. Scroll through some of the best ones below.
