Editor’s Notes: TEDxPortland, an independently organized TED event, and Nike, headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, have a longstanding partnership that spans ten years, with the sportswear brand providing the event with footwear and apparel. Each year, a different Nike silhouette gets the TEDxPortland treatment, with 2019’s being the Air Trainer 1.

The Air Trainer 1 has been reworked to include TED’s classic white/black/red color scheme and hits of special branding. Only 200 pairs were produced and given to speakers, core volunteers, and friends and family. This year, for the first time ever, 20 pairs are being made available to the public. All proceeds will be donated to TEDxPortland 2020 ticket scholarships.
