On January 23, Vic Mensa took to Twitter to ask fans what beat they'd like to see him rap on. Well, fans took that request to heart and just two days later Mensa teased a new freestyle over Drake's latest banger, "Scary Hours."

The track sees Mensa at his finest, dropping references to everything from 8 Mile and The Legend of Zelda to V for Vendetta. However, the line that seems to have the web talking is a reference to former Everyday Struggle host Joe Budden:

"Fake like it’s all love and hip-hop ’til they push the Joe button and you get punched in the face as a consequence / and jump right back on live, cappin’ with confidence / famous for putting your hands on women, you can’t be proud of it / don’t try to fuck wit me shorty, just stay monogamous."

Thankfully, before things could get out of hand Mensa confirmed that the track is not meant to be interpreted as a Joe Budden diss. Shortly after, the Chicago rapper even shared a screenshot of a text conversation with Budden, putting any and all potential beef rumors to rest.
