Riccardo Tisci took Givenchy to Jardin des Plantes, Paris’s sumptuous botanical gardens, to showcase the house’s SS17 womenswear collection. A fitting location, as Tisci’s show was all about nature. He opened up with slip dresses decorated in lush prints of agate, while amulets of the precious volcanic rock hung on tortoiseshell chains around many models’ necks.
Fine suiting sported oversized patch pockets, mirroring the house’s men’s show back in June, while a kaleidoscopic whirlwind of patterns were draped over the dresses in the show’s closing looks. A typically Tisci-esque explosion of visuals, and plenty of expensive, flashing clothing to keep the Givenchy woman looking fiery next summer.
