Highsnobiety’s Fitmas Calendar is a recap of 2019’s best celebrity style. Throughout the month of December, we’ll be looking back at one fit each day, diving deeper into why it worked and how you can achieve the look.

Who: A$AP Rocky

The outfit he's wearing: Pink Loewe tuxedo from the label's Fall/Winter 2019 collection.

Where and when: Pre-GRAMMY Gala, February 2019.

Editor’s notes: No one can lift a fit straight off the runway like A$AP Rocky. Back in February, A$AP rocked up to a Pre-Grammy party in a power-pink tuxedo from Loewe – just the tip of the iceberg for A$AP's obsession with the Spanish heritage brand, as he would later go on to star in the SS19 campaign.

The oversized suit comes from the brand's FW19 menswear collection, which marked creative director Jonathan Anderson's first menswear show for the brand. The cleanness of the white shirt – particularly the modern dandy-like sleeves – and the breaks around the wide pant legs are extremely on-brand for Rocky's aesthetic; meanwhile, the cotton-candy shade of pink is an unexpected subversion of the classic black tuxedo.

The outfit's dramatic elongated shape is a perfect example of how to nail oversize suiting to stand out among the more slim-fitting options, and it works because everything is in proportion and tucked in where it needs to be. Meanwhile, this FENTY creation that A$AP wore to the Fashion Awards recently left us with many questions.
