Start your weekend off right with the news that Drake is releasing a new song Friday night. Oh, and he's close to finishing his album, too.
The news came to fruition after the rapper made a surprise appearance during a Majid Jordan set in Toronto yesterday. “The reason I’m here tonight is because I’m back in the city finishing my album,” he told the hometown crowd. “I got a new single dropping tomorrow night, just in case you got some free time.” Check out the fan recorded footage below.
Another interesting note from the show was how, just a day after being seen wearing Nike Air Max 1 sneakers, Drake opted to rock adidas track pants and YEEZY 500 creps. Drizzy's contractual situation with Jordan Brand and Nike remains unclear, but it seems he's enjoying the will-he-won't-he-leave saga that has developed in light of any potential move to the Three Stripes.
Drake stormed into 2018 with Scary Hours, a two-track EP featuring "Diplomatic Immunity" and "God's Plan," the latter of which has enjoyed a 10-week stint at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In February, he jumped on buzzy Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB's "Look Alive." It's unclear what the new single will be, but last month during an Instagram Live session, Drake said he was working on a song with producer Murda Beatz.
