New York-based but headed up by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki, Engineered Garments is a label that channels the heterogeneous nature of its founder's career. From a buying role at Woolrich Mills to his time with Nepenthes, Suzuki traded a childhood spent largely in rural Japan with the chaos of the Big Apple. Engineered Garments pieces are often patched-together and pattern-heavy, and the latest FW19 drop follows suit. The collection is now available at select retailers, including SSENSE, and we've picked out some of our favorite pieces.
Suzuki's trademark juxtaposition of fabrics and colors is present in one of this season's outerwear highlights — the green logger jacket. The long-sleeved piece's color palette gives off serious woodland vibes, while hardware details, including the 'throat guard' closure, are a nice finishing touch. Pair it with the matching pants if you want to go all in.
The brand's penchant for patterns comes through clearly elsewhere in the FW19 drop, packing floral goods like this tote and the super-loud paisley shirt.
