While the hype surrounding Black Lives Matter has seemingly died down and many brands have gone back to business as usual following temporary social activism, Jordan Brand is continuing to fight the good fight.

Pledging its commitment to the Black community, Jordan Brand has launched a new series titled REAL TALK, which will spotlight important racial issues, with a focus on education and awareness to find actionable solutions. This new initiative ties to one goal: equal opportunity and equal justice for all Black people.

REAL TALK will be hosted by social commentator Angela Rye, who will be joined by a range of Jordan athletes and influencers as well as journalists, social justice experts, and community activists. These candid conversations are aimed to better help people understand how racism still affects the Black community. With action as its foundation, the platform will encourage voting, community involvement, and economic and social justice reform advocacy.

“We know our commitment requires action, not just words, and we are already seeing signs that change is possible when inspiration meets action,” said Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand. “We will continue to do our part to create actionable and meaningful change to bring equal justice and opportunity for Black people and all people of color.”

With this series, Jordan Brand extends the belief that by understanding the problem, together we can begin to overcome systemic racism. The brand is showing with actions and words that Black Lives Matter is more than a hashtag or a black square on Instagram, it's an ongoing commitment after the hype dies down and the news stops trending.

REAL TALK follows up on Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand's $100 million pledge earlier this year to champion racial equality and social justice. In effect, Jordan Brand leads the way for other brands to hopefully recognize that the anti-racism conversation is far from over.

REAL TALK episodes will air on Jordan Brand’s YouTube and Instagram channels, and episode one will debut on October 7. Watch the teaser below.
