Here's our choice from the Burton x New Balance winter collaboration, spanning snowboard boots and hardy outdoor hiking shoes and sneakers.

Inspired by their shared New England heritage, Burton and New Balance have teamed up to for a special collaborative outdoors pack for the coming winter sports season. Reworking New Balance's legendary 710 series, the two release the HRL710 - designed for outdoor hiking and heavy use – while their HVL710 gets styled for the street. Rounding off the pack comes three new snowboard boots including the Burton Imperial x New Balance, as well as full high-top sneaker from the Boston sneaker label's reworked designs.

The HRL710 reinterprets the original 710 first introduced in 1982, which not only has the distinction of being New Balance's first hiking shoe, but was also worn by the first American team to ascend the North Wall of Mount Everest. Taking this and working in Burton design points, the New Balance x Burton HRL710 pays homage to both, with woven navy textile and pig suede punctuating the full grain tan leather upper, as well as REVLITE technology included for a hardy performance.

Meanwhile, the limited edition Burton Imperial x New Balance snowboard boot takes inspiration from the original New Balance 710 Vazee Outdoor, combining it with Burton's 30 years of experience in the snowboard game. With a genuine tan nubuck leather shell, on the tech side the boot features Sleeping Bag heat-reflective foil for high-altitude insulation, lightweight Vibram® EcoStep™ soles for added grip, footprint reducing Shrinkage™ as well as B3 Gel cushioning for ultimate board feel when you're hurtling down the mountain.

Rounding off the release, the Burton x New Balance HVL710 takes inspiration from the former's Ion LTD Snowboard Boot, incorporating a performance Vazee sole unit for a snug sock-like performance fit and feel. Speckled laces and added reflective details reference rugged technicality, coupled with blue-grey and black colorblocking, honeycomb textured mesh and suede foxing and toe cap.
