Kicking of 2017, New Balance is coming out swinging with its recently unveiled 247 silhouette. Honoring the new design with a string of all day parties that dominated seven cities across three continents, ringing in the 247 Luxe. While the 247 Luxe embodies the first dimension of the style’s 24/7 lifestyle focus—one on premium sophistication—the second iteration taps into the sheer athleticism that’s found in even the most everyday tasks of daily life. Enter, the 247 Sport.

As seen on the 247 Luxe, the 247 Sport is a fusion of various New Balance technologies and designs to create a sneaker that can seamlessly carry the wearer from Night, to Day, to Night again. As modern men and women live lives that rarely stop, New Balance forged the 247 to stick with you—without skimping the sartorial swagger the today’s consumer demands.

The design begins with an Ariaprene bootie construction, built to be both secure and stylish in a variety of situations. There’s plenty of new innovations to be found on the 247, including a contemporary rework on a classic NB midfoot saddle strap (for an improved, running-inspired snug fit), and a performance focused outsole. Unlike the 247 Luxe, New Balance leans into the 247 Sport’s athletic tech direction, swapping a premium leather for a engineered mesh upper and including a rubberized circular tongue logo in place of the classic “NB” nylon label.

Even with the new updates, fans of New Balance will recognize a variety of different homages to previous silhouettes. The “Made in USA” New Balance 1300 lends the 247 its throat pattern at the front of the shoe, while the “Made in UK” 576 inspires the 247’s collar strap. One of New Balance’s most prolific shoes—the “Made in USA” 998—influenced the 247’s midsole, with a lower profile and sleeker silhouette, coupled with New Balance’s proprietary RevLite for lightweight, all-day comfort.

While the 247 is a silhouette that’s meant to be as flexible as you are throughout your daily life, there’s something to be said for the standout 247 Sport. Combining New Balance running innovations with the all-day style of the 247 line, this performance-focused iteration of New Balance’s modern silhouette is sure to establish itself as a staple in an contemporary wardrobe. Grab the 247 Sport when it hits New Balance retailers on February 4 and in European markets on February 11.
