Release Date: Pre-release November 4 at Solebox and Packer Shoes, before a global release on November 11 at Consortium accounts.
Editor’s Notes: Getting into the nuts and bolts of the collaborative process, Solebox’s General Manager Aljoscha Kondratiew revealed “Our Ultra Boost Mid represents the ocean floor, while the Energy Boost represents the water surface, so if you see both shoes together, it shows the gradient of the ocean from top to bottom, while the Primeknit upper on both models echoes air bubbles rising to the waters surface. Each shoe features additional individual references to scuba diving and the rift, like the neoprene heel cage on the Ultra Boost Mid, or the coordinates of the stores on both shoes. The Energy Boost has a translucent cage that was inspired by diving goggles. But wait for the launch, we will take the story even further. Working with Packer was super smooth, from the first workshop in Paris to the final product.”
Speaking more on the year-long Sneaker Exchange program, Aljoscha reveals another of his favorite releases; “I would say that the Sneakersnstuff x Social Status collaboration was something I wore a lot. Personally, I’m also a big fan of glow-in-the-dark details, so the Sneakerboy x Wish ATL Pure Boost was also heavy in my rotation during summer. In the end, I have tons of respect for every partner in the Consortium network, and it feels like a dream-come-true when you get the chance to work with your idols and other creatives around the world. Thanks to everybody that made this happen.
On the topic of the trans-Atlantic collaboration, adidas Originals Senior Director Daniel Bauer told us “We are approaching the five year anniversary of the Energy Boost franchise, so we want to include a nod to that date. With a lot of hype around the Ultra Boost, we wanted to use this pack to educate people around both key franchises for the brand, and to show the synergy across design elements.”
