After recently announcing their collaboration, Palace Skateboards and adidas Originals have released a first look at their upcoming collection. The offering consists of 22 pieces of “teamwear,” as Palace's Lev Tanju calls it. “There’s been a big revival in sportswear and huge graphic branding,” Tanju told “What we’re doing crosses over, kind of. It makes us relevant, but we’re doing what we want to do, and that’s it.”

“They don’t think the way we think,” said Tanju of adidas. “That’s why they wanted us to do it. We’re not trained designers. Designing is not us sitting down and drawing it. We find shapes that we like, then change things and take from other things. We like weird stuff, we don’t want it to be normal. If people don’t get it, that’s even better, because there’s nothing really to get. It’s just clothes we wanted to make.”

This weekend, 201 Mulberry Street in SoHo will be converted for two days into the Palace adidas Originals Pop-Off and will be the only U.S. location where the collaboration will be available.
