Last December, it was revealed that an adidas x Dragon Ball Z footwear collab would drop at some point in late 2018. Subsequently, January gifted fans with a number of leaked looks from the collection: the EQT Mid ADV “Shenron,” Deerupt “Gohan,” and Oregon Ultra Tech “Vegeta,” to name a few.
Following this, Instagram account @storebyjc shared an image (below) of what was believed to be the adidas ZX 500 RM “Goku.” Fast forward a few months and Instagram leaker @dreamcollector1 gave us an even closer look, before adidas turned up with the official goods for all to feast their eyes on.
The crep features the Saiyan’s signature orange and blue color combo, and as seen above, has been decked with red and white accents on the midsole. Rounding it off is a neat red lace fastening on the upper. From the official images, we can see now confirm that there are Dragon Ball details over the suede overlay on the medial side of the sneaker, the Boost stabilizer, and the sneaker’s heel.
At this time, not much is known about the drop, although rumors suggest we could see a release in August this year. As always, take this with a pinch of salt. We’ll keep you updated with an official date when it’s announced.
Until then, what’s your verdict on the adidas ZX 500 RM “Goku”?
