adidas Highlights describes itself as "a cross-category edit of directional pieces from the distinct and varied collections of the German sportswear label." Or, in other words, the entity takes a selection of items from various sections of the sportswear giant and reworks them into something completely new – in this case a comfort that is both futurist and pragmatic.
After drawing inspiration from collegiate sports for its SS16 range, the label now heads to Berlin where it aims to distill the collections future-vintage vibe and "a free-spirited mood of youth, clubbing culture, and abandoned cityscapes." Included are flared and velour reworks of the classic 3-stripe track pants; baggy, murdered-out sweatshirts; trefoil skinny tees; an oblong-collared windbreaker; and a retro holdall purse.
Sneaker-wise, the iconic Hamburg and Gazelle silhouettes are revamped in pastel pink and emerald green, while the Crazy Explosive Primeknit high-top comes in a striking blood red colorway.
