Just days after tracing the origins of its Equipment line in this super-neat documentary short, adidas Originals returns with more cinematic brilliance.
With big names such as Snoop Dogg, Dev Hynes, Stormzy, Mabel, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Brandon Ingram, Petra Collins, Gonz, and Lucas Puig in tow, the Original Is Never Finished campaign explores the philosophy behind adidas's popular sub-arm and urges a new generation of creators to redefine the meaning of originality.
“Everything we do for adidas Originals is a work in progress, as true creativity is never finished”, says Alegra O’Hare, VP of Global Communications at the brand. “We are constantly challenging ourselves and breaking down the boundaries that limit imagination; we hope to inspire all creators to do the same. We first raised this idea in 2015 through our work, questioning the very meaning of the word."
Heeding the above, Snoop can be seen reinventing his iconic "Doggystyle" album cover, this time swapping the roles of his original protagonists in a statement on gender equality. Petra Collins, meanwhile, provides her own take on Botticelli’s Birth of Venus with a striking visual sequence.
