Ever since Japanese brand Hender Scheme entered the market with its handmade vegetable-tanned leather interpretations of iconic sneakers, priced at around $1,000, vegetable-tanned leather started to stand for luxury and premium in the sneaker game. Since then we have seen many brands jump on the vegetable-tanned leather bandwagon, in many cases with great outcome.
Today we show you a crazy custom sneaker by sneaker customizer Jack The Ripper. The adidas Ultra Boost comes with the distinct handmade Hender Scheme design and material aesthetic. Jack The Ripper completely revamped the sneaker with a premium tan leather construction, with laser-engraved design details running over the entire upper. It sits on top of a clean white Boost outer sole. The outcome is actually very cool and we can certainly imagine people wanting to purchase a production version of something along these lines. What do you think?
