Footwear artisan Red Ribbon Recon teamed up with football lifestyle blog, Kick to the Pitch, to transform a pair of “Pirate Black” adidas YEEZY Boost 350s into a set of football boots at Art Basel Miami.
They did this by peeling off the sneaker’s soles and replacing them with the studs of an adidas “Ace” 15.1, hence the name adidas Yeezy “Ace.”
This whole stunt was done as part of COPA BASEL, a fan event held at Art Basel Miami that aims to bridge the divide between art and football.
A number of muralists and retired players appeared at the indoor event, most notable of which was retired MLS star and U.S. national team player Eddie Johnson and his legendary, retired Canadian counterpart Dwayne De Rosario.
