Editor’s Notes: Alexander Wang is back for a fourth collaborative season with adidas Originals, offering five new footwear styles and a range of garms inspired by the idea of repurposing and recontextualizing.
The new line takes iconic items from the adidas archive — track tops, football jerseys, track pants, tees, and dresses — and transforms them into imperfect, almost disjointed pieces that embody Wang’s subversive style.
The shoes — AW Skate Super, Turnout Trainer, AW Bball, AW Puff Trainer, and AW Futureshell — boast off-kilter features. The AW Skate Super, for example, has an inside-out shell toe that reveals the usually-hidden barcode.
The Brianna Capozzi-shot, Haley Wollens-styled campaign is based around a fake-camping setup, which sees model Anna Ewers reclining on a bunch of custom-made outdoor gear like tents, chairs, and sleeping bags, all made out of vintage adidas pieces.
