As expected, Drake has been chosen to host the first-ever NBA awards show, taking place in late June. The announcement in turn arrives today via the NBA and Aubrey.

Drake has long since been a well-documented sports fan, most notably hoops, as he can often be seen on the sidelines during his Toronto Raptors outings.

The inaugural NBA Awards On TNT will be broadcasted live from New York City's Basketball City at Pier 36 on June 26. The ceremony will reveal awards for this season's Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man Award, Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year.

Until then, however, who do you have taking home the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy?

In other basketball-related news, Kendrick Lamar’s "HUMBLE." is the soundtrack to the 2017 NBA Playoffs.
