Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton draw from the rainbow theme that dominated the house's SS19 show, presenting a new collection of men's sunglasses dubbed Louis Vuitton Rainbow. Similar to the SS19 showcase, the utilization of a rainbow here transmits a message of inclusivity, as the vast selection of colors celebrates the differences and variety that defines Abloh’s vision.

Louis Vuitton Rainbow consists of two frames that are interpretations of classic shapes. The square sunglasses are offered in black, camel, red, and yellow, while the pilot style appears in crystal, blue, and orange. Crafted in Italy, the sunglasses are made entirely from one integrated piece, except for the hinges, while showcasing an eye-catching gradient effect that leaves colors fading out from the temple into a new tone. The neutral colors — camel, crystal, and black — possess no gradient detail, however, although they do point to key shades Abloh used in his debut Louis Vuitton show. The majority of the lenses are black, while the clear crystal glasses come with silver mirror lenses. Lastly, the hinges pull inspiration from one of Louis Vuitton's signature details in the S-Lock, most notably featured on the iconic Millionaire sunglasses.
