Brand: Eastlogue x New Balance

Season: FW19

Key Pieces: New Balance and Eastlogue borrow design elements from WWII parachute riggers and fighter pilot uniforms for this militaristic capsule. The Wind Pullover Jumper exemplifies the “Rigger Made” aesthetic, with the design’s color scheme and liberal pocketing making for a functional and versatile piece of outerwear that layers well under the collection’s heavier pieces.

Release Date: Available now

Buy: Eastlogue’s webstore and select Korean stockists.

Editor’s Notes: Last year, New Balance teamed up with Korean brand Eastlogue for its “SYSTEMA” capsule, taking inspiration from the US Army's LEVEL 7 system of protection. For the latest collaborative project, the two labels have further mined the utilitarian arena of WWII military apparel, using it as a foundational element in all featured products.

References to paratrooper attire and gear are visible throughout the capsule's oversized jackets -- which themselves resemble parachute material -- as well as heavily pocketed parkas, jackets, assault vests, as well as paneled pants and jumpers. Despite such obvious influences, the capsule retains a sport-like edge and promises to serve the wearer well in even the most challenging of weather conditions.
