New Balance’s annual sneaker holiday Grey Day is being celebrated a few days early, at least in Hong Kong.
To celebrate Grey Day 2019, New Balance Hong Kong has announced the “The Grey Store,” which is open to the public between August 23 and September 8. The greyed-out retail space boasts concrete fixtures in keeping with the grey theme, as well as a selection of curated photography, and a pinhole camera offering photographic souvenirs. Over time, models from New Balance’s premium 990 range have become synonymous with grey, after the brand first elected a grey color scheme for the NB620 in 1980.
“Grey Day” will launch the made-in-USA 997 and 997 Sport, featuring “new balance MADE IN USA” text in place of the iconic “N” logo. The shelves of Hong Kong’s Grey Store are stocked with an additional assortment of fan-favorite models like the 990v2, 990v5, 991, 996, 576 and more.
The pop-up remains open until September 8, 2019.
