Model: Air Max 1 “Schematic” and “Sketch to Shelf”
Key Features: Both colorways take inspiration from Tinker Hatfield’s design process for the OG Air Max 1. The black “Sketch to Shelf” pair dives into Hatfield’s design sketches, while the white “Schematic” pair recall a drafter’s technical drawings, including notes on materials and different measurements.
Release Date: August 9
Editor’s Notes: After the first “Sketch to Shelf” Air Max 1 in white and red dropped in Europe and the US in July, Nike is now dropping the white “Schematic” pair alongside a black “Sketch to Shelf” colorway in the US on August 9. Both sneakers take inspiration from Tinker Hatfield’s design process while working on the model, which debuted in 1987. The silhouette was the Swoosh’s first shoe with a visible Max Air unit in the midsole.
