Brand: Oakley

Release Date: May 12

Buy: Highsnobiety Shop

Editor’s Notes: Get ready for a cold summer. Oakley revitalizes one of its many game-changing frames just in time for our Highsnobiety Sports drop.

First released in 1992 as the brand’s lightest pair of sunglasses, Oakley’s Re:SubZero combines innovation with new technology for today's generation of athletes. At first glance, the design is nearly identical, but several key features reveal the brand's attention to detail.

The sunglasses feature Oakley’s groundbreaking PhysioMorphic Geometry, which allows for the lens to be built without any shape restrictions. The super-lightweight frames weigh only 24 grams and come equipped with Unobtanium® earsocks and nose pads which provide a no-slip grip that's primed for summer, or just about any outdoor activity. Not to mention the tinted Prizm™ lenses add an extra layer of style when catching rays and protecting yourself from the elements.

It’s no secret that Oakley’s shades are among the fashion industry's favorite eyewear brands. Aside from being adorned by some of the best athletes of past and present generations, previous collabs with brands like Stussy, A-COLD-WALL*, and Vetements serve as a reminder of Oakley’s innovative design. High-tech specs may come and go depending on what current fashion trend you’re following, but the demand for quality and timeless eyewear has made Oakley a household name.

If you missed the last drop of Sub Zero’s from Oakley’s MUZM collection, you’ll probably want to set some alerts for these or wait another 30 years for a re-release.

Arriving in our shop in tandem with Highsnobiety Sports, these extra limited edition frames are available in four colors, each retailing at $255.00 respectively. You can purchase the Sub Zero this coming Thursday, and if you can’t wait be sure to check the selection of other Oakley’s in our shop.
