With New York Fashion Week in full swing, designers Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper of NY-based label Rochambeau took host in the city’s midtown neighborhood to unveil their Fall/Winter 2016 collection.

At 27 looks, the collection takes inspiration from the 1992 crime drama Juice, which stars legendary rap icon Tupac Shakur. Echoing the styles that defined the era’s urban youth, the range melds oversized, casual fits with modern fabrics such as velour, mohair and waxy cottons that recall ’90s streetwear while preserving a seasonally-apropos ethos.

““We were reacting against slim silhouettes – and looking at early 90s; we landed on Tupac Shakur’s seminal film Juice as a key reference. Our guy was tough, were layers, NYC. We worked with modern fabrics, detailing and color to make it feel fresh.””

Incorporating a bold yet earthy color palette of oranges, browns, mustards and beiges, standout pieces from Rochambeau’s FW16 collection include a military inspired poncho, raglan jumper, oversized shorts, dungarees and bungee pants.
